KUCHING: Inside Investor, the global media company providing business information for investors and entrepreneurs, will put Sarawak in the focus again in its upcoming Inside ASEAN 2013 business report slated for publishing in June this year.
The report follows the successful Inside Sarawak 2011 report, which was launched here by Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and leading personalities from Sarawak’s political and corporate scene in September 2011.
The subsequent Inside Sarawak 2012 was presented at the Inside Forum Asia 2012 in Doha, Qatar in the presence of the chief minister and Sarawak officials, members of the Qatari Royal Family, former Asean secretary-general Dr Surin Pitsuwan as well as Asean leaders from the public and private sectors.
“The reports have been very valuable in attracting investor interest to Sarawak, especially from the Middle East,” said Taib.
“I am looking forward to another successful report in 2013 which will complement the efforts of Sarawak’s long-term development programme and attract even more interest from international investors,” he added.
According to a press statement yesterday, significant steps have already been initiated: the ‘Inside Investor Forum Asia 2012’ has brought together the chief minister and the Prime Minister of Qatar, H.E. Shaikh Hamad Jassim Jaber Al Thani, to discuss possible investment ventures in the fields of food security and halal production.
To facilitate investments and bring business knowledge to Sarawak, Inside Investor will deploy a team of industry experts primarily from Asean accompanied by potential investors to Kuching in May this year ahead of the launch of Inside ASEAN 2013.
