KUCHING: SUPP will continue giving full support to the brave police and army personnel who are risking their lives fighting Sulu intuders in Sabah.

Its president Datuk Seri Peter Chin said party members are united in giving their moral support to the frontline fighters to protect the security and sovereignty of the nation.

He pointed out Malaysians should not compromise or sit silently without doing anything to fight against the intruders who invaded the country, and he expressed sympathy to the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives to safeguard the integrity of  Malaysia and the safety and freedom of the people.

“I am very sad the irresponsible terrorists had broken international laws, invaded our country and killed our police personnel especially a Sarawakian, the late ASP Michael Padel,” he said at the ‘Moral Support to The Police and Military Personnel in Sabah’ campaign organised by SUPP Central Women and Youth Sections at the old court house here yesterday.

Representing the police force at the ceremony were Kuching police chief ACP Roslan Bek Ahmad and his fellow police officers in paying tribute to the fallen heroes by observing one minute of silence at the campaign.

Other BN leaders in the function included SUPP Youth chief Tan Kai, Youth secretary general Wilfred Yap, Women chief Amy Tnay and Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP)’s Pending branch chief Athanasius Audie Chua.

Chin handed over donation of RM5,000 collected from SUPP members and other Barisan Nasional parties and the general public yesterday during a brief donation drive at Plaza Merdeka and a banner with signatures showing support to the police and army personnel to Roslan.
