KUCHING: Two students from Sunway College Kuching did Malaysia proud recently when they were judged best students in the world in the December 2012 sitting of the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) examinations.

Tong Xiao Jia achieved worldwide ranking No. 1 with a score of 97 per cent for CAT Specialist Paper FFM (Foundations in Financial Management), while Emily Chua Wan Ping attained the top worldwide placing when she scored 100 per cent for CAT Specialist Paper FTX (Foundations in Taxation).

Commenting on their remarkable achievement, Tong and Chua both expressed gratitude to Sunway College Kuching.

Tong said although she expected a good result in the exam, she never thought she would do so well.

Chua paid tribute to everyone at Sunway Kuching for playing a role in her remarkable success.

“I would like to thank my FTX lecturer Kevin Voon for his guidance and support. I would also like to thank all my other lecturers and the wonderful staff at Sunway for always encouraging and believing in me,” she said.

Chua and Tong both agreed that there was no secret formula to being a prize-winning student.
