KOTA KINABALU: A motorcyclist was killed when his machine crashed into the back of a stationary bus at Jalan Sulaiman, in front of the State Federal Administration Complex yesterday.

Lee Ming Fuing, 38, died on the spot in the accident that saw his body pinned between his motorcycle and undercarriage of the bus around 3.30pm.

It is believed that the victim was heading towards Kingfisher Park from Sepanggar when he failed to slow down in time as the bus was picking up passengers at a bus stop.

It took fire and rescue personnel a couple of minutes to extricate the body.

The bus driver had immediately lodged a police report.

Meanwhile, city police chief ACP Jauteh Dikun said the victim’s body had been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem.

He urged eyewitnesses to come forward to assist police in their investigation under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
