KAPIT: Eight first year tertiary students recently received RM500 each in education aid from Kapit member of parliament Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi.

Edmund Tam, Amy Ho, Samuel Saw, Vickie Kong, Jessica Low, Low Sing Yen, Ling Wang Loong and Sng Weoi Ning received the aid to help them further their studies.

“They applied for the education assistance through my service centre. What I needed was the letter of offer and relevant documents,” Nanta said during the presentation ceremony.

“The policy of education assistance is to help them, those first timers, at the institutes of higher learning. I gave them RM500 each.”

Low said she was very grateful to Nanta for the assistance, which will help her during the new semester.

“Indeed the immediate cash assistance is a great help to me. It will lessen the burden on my parents. My daddy is just a mechanic while my mum’s a housewife.

“With the money, it will help me start the new semester as there are many things I need to pay for like transport, stationery and registration etc,” she said.
