MARUDI: New members of Saberkas are told to work closely with other members of the club so that it will be run smoothly.

Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Jacob Dungau Sagan said they should also support government policies and not side with the opposition as this would derail the club’s objective to be the bridge between the people and the government.

He gave this advice when launching the Saberkas unit of Long Selaan, Ulu Baram at Long Selaan Longhouse over the weekend.

He reminded them that they should also be the ears and eyes of the government to find out the needs of the people and bring them to the attention of the proper agencies for assistance, besides informing the people about the government’s policies and development plans.

James Enggan Jalong was elected as the chairman of the Long Selaan Saberkas Unit.
