LAHAD DATU: Two more individuals, believed to be linked to the Sulu armed intrusion incident, were arrested yesterday evening.

State Deputy Police Commissioner, SAC Datuk Tan Kok Liang, said, the two individuals were arrested in Kampung Tanjung Aru and Kampung Sungai Bilis.

He said the 38-year-old local man, who was arrested in Tanjung Aru in the state capital, has been detained under Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012, while the 45-year-old woman, who was arrested in Kampung Sungai Bilis, has been detained under the Immigration Act for not having any valid documents.

“The detained woman was found possessing Sulu sultanate identification documents and police are now probing her connection to the Sulu armed intruders,” said Tan, during the daily Ops Daulat briefing at Felda Residence Sahabat.

Meanwhile, Tan said another mobile police station was placed in Kampung Tanjung Labian and Kampung Tanjung Batu yesterday morning to increase public confidence in the security situation.

He said most of the affected villagers have now returned to their homes at Kampung Tanjung Batu, Kampung Tanjung Labian, Kampung Tanagian and Kampung Lok Buani.

He said 20 police reports have been made on the loss of property to the terrorists as several houses were razed to the ground.

He believed that more police reports on loss of property will be made by the villagers.

He said the presence of the mobile police station will ensure the villagers carry out their activities without undue worries.
