BEKENU, Sibuti: State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar has advised the people to vote for a leader who can secure government funds to bring in development for them.

According to him, unlike opposition representatives who have nothing to offer, Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders are given annual allocations to implement development projects in the areas they represent.

“Please make a wise decision before casting your vote. Do not vote for a leader who is empty-handed.

“Vote for BN candidates because they are allocated with funds by the government to bring numerous developments to the people,” he said during a leader-with-the-people event in Kampung Opak, Bekenu, Sibuti on Tuesday.

He added that it would be a waste of time to vote for the opposition as they could only talk and complain about everything without bringing any development.

“Barisan Nasional (BN) has brought in millions and millions worth of development to the people in Sibuti.

“There is no stop to development and requests for development. In order to continuously enjoy this, the people must give Barisan Nasional the mandate to remain in the government,” he said.

Asfia disclosed that the allocation for Sibuti parliamentary constituency, which comprises Lambir and Bekenu state constituencies, had been increased to enable more development to be brought there.

“The allocation through Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat had been increased from RM450,000 a year to RM1 million a year. While for Bekenu assemblywoman Rosey Yunus, the allocation is RM1.5 million a year.

“To top this, Sibuti MP is allocated RM1.5 million every half year, making it RM3 million annually, to enable them to bring in more development to the whole Sibuti parliamentary area,” he said.

Among those present at the function were Assistant Minister of Early Childhood Education and Family Development Rosey Yunus, Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat, Sibu BN incumbent Ahmad Lai Bujang and Kampung Opak community chief Osman Abdullah. #myvote13 #ge13
