KUCHING: The Rainforest World Craft Bazaar (RWCB) will once again be part of the upcoming Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) and this year’s bazaar will have more interesting activities to offer visitors.

According to a press statement, RWCB, which is organised by the Crafthub Sdn Bhd and managed by UCSI Communications Sdn Bhd (UComms), will be held simultaneously with the annual RWMF from June 28 to 30 at the Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV).

Various attractive and unique crafts from local artisans including those from Peninsular Malaysia as well as overseas will be available at the bazaar.

To date, a total of 27 vendors have already confirmed their participation.

Among the arts and crafts that will be available include jewellery, decorative items, batik and pottery.

Visitors to the bazaar will also have the opportunity to try their hands at making the crafts as there will be some demonstrations by the vendors.

The booth, measuring three by three metres, will be located at the various ethnic houses around the SCV, thus giving festival goers a homely feel when shopping for souvenir items.

Anyone keen to book a booth is advised to contact Alexis Langgie at 012-8547277 or via email at [email protected].

The RWCB was first introduced at the festival in 2008 with the main objective of promoting local crafts to overseas visitors.

The bazaar has since created a name for itself, while complementing the renowned RWMF.

In previous years, RWCB had seen exhibitors from India, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and the Philippines.

This year, Crafthub is also hoping to see a good mix of exhibitors for a wider variety of handicrafts on display.
