Pakatan only fighting for Anwar — Rep

KUCHING: State Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn yesterday reminded the people to be mindful that the struggles of Pakatan Rakyat were only meant for one individual.

He said unlike the Barisan Nasional (BN) which worked for all races, the Pakatan pact of PKR, DAP and PAS was only fighting for PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“While PAS, DAP and PKR each have different agendas and are unable to work together, BN, which has 14 component parties, has been working well to look after the interest of all races.”

Tarat assemblyman Sagah said this at the launching of a cluster rubber project at Kampung Stabut along Jalan Padawan yesterday.

The event was graced by Deputy Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr James Dawos Mamit, who is BN’s candidate for Mambong in the May 5 general election.

Sagah said the BN had brought about tremendous development to the state over the past 50 years and more would come if the people continued to support the coalition.

Earlier, at the 1Malaysia Green 1Malaysia Clean programme in Kampung Lintang Baru along Kuching-Serian Road, Sagah, who is also chairman of Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB), said an election was a matter of making the right decision to determine the destiny of the country.

Thus, he stressed, the people must make a wise decision.

He also announced a grant of RM20,000 for the upgrading of the village’s community hall, saying that cheque would be made available very soon.

He said the allocation was approved a long time ago and had nothing to do with the coming polls.
