MIRI: Residents of Sibuti near here are advised to be patient while the Barisan Nasional (BN) government implements development projects in their area as these projects have to be implemented in stages.

Sibuti incumbent Ahmad Lai Bujang said the government does not neglecting any area when it comes to development, but the process takes time and there are also other procedures to go through.

“Development cannot be implemented in one go, it needs to be done in stages. If there are certain facilities which had been promised but not yet implemented in the longhouse, rest assured, the facility is already in the pipeline.

“The people need to be patient because the government is doing all it can to get these facilities in place,” he said to Rumah Enteri Belawan longhouse folks at Kampung Tiris yesterday.

He was visiting villages and longhouses in Niah and Bekenu as part of his campaigning strategy in preparation for the polling day on May 5. Also present at the longhouse were councillor Jamali Basri and the longhouse chief Enteri Belawan, along with longhouse folks and BN members from the surrounding area.

Meanwhile, Enteri inquired about the status of some facilities including the replacement of two bridges which the residents had requested earlier on but was told to be patient as some projects are still in the pipeline.

“For now, I am just an incumbent and I cannot promise anything. But if I am given the mandate for another five year, I ensure you that there will be many more developments penetrating this area,” said Ahmad Lai.

He urged the people there not to be hoodwinked by Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS) who only make empty promises because they are not sincere in helping the people.

“Kelantan is only as big as Miri and Sibuti put together, yet PAS failed to develop it. But you can see the difference in Sibuti which is enjoying continuous development under the Barisan Nasional government,” he said.

He advised the people to make a wise decision and vote for BN for greater and continuous development. #myvote13 #ge13
