IPOH: All 28 state assemblymen from Pakatan Rakyat were not at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar to witness Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir being sworn in as Perak Menteri Besar, yesterday.

Perak deputy PAS Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin said they (Pakatan Rakyat) did not attend the oath taking and swearing in ceremony because they were not satisfied with the Election Commission (EC) and the results of the 13th General Election (GE13) which ended on Sunday.

“We did not attend because we feel the GE13 results were not legitimate and there is suspicion of widespread fraud,” he told Bernama when asked to comment on news portal reports that alleged the Pakatan Rakyat had boycotted the Menteri Besar’s oath taking ceremony.

Meanwhile, Zambry Abdul Kadir said all 28 state assemblymen from Pakatan Rakyat were invited for the ceremony.

“For me the GE13 is over and it is time to continue the agenda of leading the state and its administration that involves all elected representatives. I do not want to comment on their absence at the palace today,” he said.

In the GE13, the Barisan Nasional (BN) clinched 31 state seats to remain in power while Pakatan Rakyat won 28 seats. — Bernama
