IBS College gives career talk to Form 5 students

MIRI: SMK Chung Hua, Miri conducted a special talk for two groups of Form 5 students on career planning and business and management studies on April 18.

The school invited Dr Antony Hii, CEO of IBS College, Miri, and its marketing manager Kelvin Lim to conduct the talk.

More than 70 students turned up for the talk and actively participated in discussions.

During the talk, Hii provided many important details for the students who wish to become successful future business leaders and professional managers; outlining the different professional careers in the field of accounting, finance, marketing, human resources and operational management.

He helped the students to understand the job specification for different professionals in each field of career, such as the role of financial accountant, management accountant and tax consultant.

Hii also highlighted the different scales of salary and income levels that different professionals earn presently. The information is reviewed with the reference to the statistical data reported by many different relevant professional organisations which include the report from governmental agencies.

Finally, he encouraged the students to learn more on the relationship between personal learning styles and the career selection process, as well as the importance of higher education which is crucial for their future.

Special prize and souvenirs were awarded to the students who actively participated in the talk and the Q&A session at the end of the seminar.

IBS College offers different Business and Management programmes leading to certificate, diploma and the degree standard of awards.

The types of business specialisation and courses include Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, and International Business.
