ENGKILILI: Lubok Antu member of parliament William Nyalau Badak will work hard to ensure that several development projects planned for Lubok Antu and Engkili are implemented as a gift to the people for his victory in the May 5 13th general election.

These projects include improvement to the logging roads to Ulu Lemanak and Ulu Engkari and the building of district hospitals for Lubok Antu and Engkilili.

He said the sites for both hospitals had already been identified.

Nyalau also noted that the people in Lubok Antu, especially in Ulu Lemanak and Ulu Engkari, had requested for better roads.

“Within these five years, I want to ensure that these mega projects as promised in the BN manifesto will be implemented in Lubok Antu constituency,” he said,

Nyalau said this at the ground-breaking ceremony for the Block Rubber Planting Project at Rh Minggat, Nanga Mujan, Skrang here last night.

The project, worth RM1.1 million, will involve a land area of 98 hectares and 27 participants.

It will be implemented by the Sri Aman Agriculture Office, whose tasks also include clearing of land, planting as well as fertilising for a period of four and a half years before participants fully take charge of the project.

On another subject, Nyalau said the big majority he won in the just-concluded 13th general election showed that the people of Lubok Antu, especially the Iban community, were not easily influenced by sweet promises of the opposition.

“Congratulations to the people of Lubok Antu for choosing Barisan Nasional (BN) to fight on for them for a better future,” he stressed.

Also present at the event were Engkilili assemblyman Dr Johnnical Rayong Ngipa, Sri Aman district agriculture officer Badin Unor, Engkilili district administrative officer Brayan Lenya as well as Jabu Sajeng, the assistant agriculture officer for Engkilili and Lubok Antu.
