MIRI: The grisly killing of two men was discovered at a construction site here, with their bodies buried under five feet of dirt yesterday morning.

Both deceased were found in two separate gunny bags buried at about three feet from one another. The victim’s heads were found almost severed with their abdomen cut open.

The deceased, believed to be father and son, were construction workers at the site. Their identities have yet to be determined.

A police report on the discovery, made at about 8.30am, has been lodged at Lutong police station.

Acting on the report lodged, a team of Miri police led by Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit rushed to the scene that morning.

They managed to pull out both bodies from the holes at about 12.30pm.

According to sources, the bodies were buried in the holes before being topped off with cement (concrete).

It was believed that both victims were killed before being buried at the site. They had reportedly gone missing since May 11 (Saturday).

Both bodies, in a state of decomposition, have been brought to Miri Hospital for a post-mortem.

Preliminary investigation revealed that both are Indonesians (Sambas ethnic group). The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Sources added that a week before the gruesome find, last Friday a fight had occurred amongst the construction workers at their wooden barrack. Since then, the victims had gone missing.

Miri police chief ACP Mun Kock Keong, when contacted yesterday, confirmed receiving a report on the discovery.
