Bazaar, green expo a hit with Mirians

MIRI: The Miri Fest Bazaar and Green Expo currently held at the city council’s sports field is packed with many activities which cater to all strata of visitors.

Today is also the last day of the bazaar and expo jointly organised by the Miri Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI), Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneur Chamber (DUBS) and Miri City Council.

It is open from 4pm to 11pm.

A hundred stalls have been put up including 40 for the Green Expo where goodies ranging from textiles, handicrafts including those made from recycled items to food and drinks are being sold.

In addition, government agencies and non-governmental organisations booths have also been set up where one could find information on various subjects with the focus on greening and conserving the environment.

A classic car and vespa scooter exhibition was also held yesterday evening.

Several artistes have also been invited to perform at the exposition to add merriment to the celebration.

Today, singer Bolkiah will perform from 8am to 11am, followed by Astro’s Tian Yu Shuang Siang from 8pm to 9pm and Jennia Janet from 10pm to 11pm.

Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud launched the bazaar yesterday evening simultaneously with the Green Walk and Green Expo.
