SIBU: To exercise regularly is the responsibility of every individual in keeping themselves fit and healthy at all times.

The guest-of-honour, Cr Wong Hie Ping of Sibu Municipal Council said that to appreciate and love our body and mind we must exercise regularly.

“There are several ways how we can express that we love ourselves. To exercise regularly is one of the best ways in making sure that we are always fit and healthy.

“Through regular exercise, it helps to reduce the level of stress that we face in life,” she added.

She was speaking at the official opening ceremony of Star Fitness which is located at the basement of the Star Mega Mall here yesterday.

Star Fitness, which is a fully equipped fitness centre, is open to the public for a healthier and better lifestyle.

Wong said being less stressful means we sleep better, thus contributing to better health.

“Apart from that, it keeps us fit and trim, keeping obesity at bay. It also improves blood circulation and lowers the level of cholesterol and blood pressure,” she pointed out.

Only by exercising regularly, we can reduce the risk of heart diseases and at the same time improve the body’s immunity system, Wong added.

“Another great thing about regular exercise is that it allows us to meet and socialise with people who think positively about life by keeping themselves fit and healthy in order to be productive in their lives,” she said.

Thus, Wong called on people of all ages to exercise regularly for a healthy and quality lifestyle.
