Marino, an American, was appointed to the post after the Vatican decided to open a nunciature (embassy) in Kuala Lumpur early this year.
Kuching Catholic Archbishop John Ha and Infrastructure Development and Communication Minister Dato Sri Michael Manyin accompanied Marino during the visit.
