List those banned from Sabah – Darell

KOTA KINABALU: Penampang MP Darrel Leiking has urged the State Government to come up with a list of individuals banned from entering Sabah.

He said this would save time and money of the affected individuals by not flying to Sabah.

‘We appreciate that the Sabah government has every right to refuse entry, especially illegal immigrants or those undesirable,” Darell said.

‘At the same time, the state should come up with a list of those who are banned from entering Sabah,?he said, adding that the authorities should also state the reason for the ban on the individuals.

Darrel made the remark a day after the State Immigration Department denied PKR vice president Nurul Izzah Anwar entry into the state on Thursday evening.

He said Nurul Izzah’s trip was to visit the Kaamatan celebrations at the Hongkod Koisaan in Penampang here.

‘She had never experienced the Kaamatan and was looking forward to it,” he said, adding that Nurul Izzah was supposed to spend a day in Kota Kinabalu and enjoy a seafood meal before flying back to Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Immigration Department director Noor Alam Khan Abdul Wahid Khan, when contacted yesterday, said they were merely carrying out a directive from the State Government in barring Nurul Izzah from entering the state.
