KUCHING: More than 20 children aged between seven and 12 years had fun learning about Islamic arts, music, crafts, architecture and inventions during the SICI4Kids held at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak recently.

The SICI4Kids is a programme for kids that comprises activities such as storytelling and art and craft held in conjunction with the Sarawak Islamic Creativity and Innovations Festival 2013 (SICI 2013).

It was facilitated by officers from Islamic Information Centre (IIC) and Pustaka. Present during this programme was IIC chief executive officer Zabariah Matali.

“SICI 2013 is an event that portrays Islamic arts, music, crafts, architecture, inventions and others. This is also in line with our centre’s objective which is to explore the creative and innovative Islamic expressions.

“This event is organised as part of the IIC’s efforts to promote and communicate the universality of Islam to create better understanding and enhanced appreciation of Islam among the multi-ethnic and multi-religious populace of Sarawak,” said a statement from IIC.
