Police rescue Bangladeshi kidnap victim

PETALING JAYA: Police rescued a Bangladeshi kidnap victim after the arrest of four suspects including a local woman in a raid on June 11.

Subang Jaya police chief ACP Yahaya Ramli said the four suspects including two Bangladeshi men were arrested in a house in Bandar Bukit Puchong which was used to confine the victim.

On June 12, the victim’s wife contacted her husband’s friend here and was told that her husband was kidnapped on arrival at the airport a day earlier.

Yahaya said some men allegedly asked ransom of RM150,000 from the victim’s wife in Bangladesh for the release of her husband.

The wife then reported the matter to police.

Police arrested the four suspects on the same day and are tracking down three other accomplices.

In a separate case, police arrested four Nigerians including a woman for running a ‘parcel scam’ in a condominium in Section 19, here on June 7 and seized mobile phones, laptops, forged documents and foreign currencies. — Bernama
