It was believed that Md Faizalzuddin was coming out from the junction when a Perodua Kancil car heading to Telipok from the Sepanggar roundabout, ran into the motorcycle at around 9pm on Monday.

As a result of the impact, the victim was thrown off his motorcycle a couple of metres at the scene of the accident. He was subsequently taken to the Likas Hospital for treatment but reportedly succumbed to his injuries at around 3.35am.

City police chief, ACP Jauteh Dikun, who confirmed the incident, said, the driver of the Perodua Kancil car has been remanded for investigation. In the second incident, another motorcyclist, whose identity is still unknown but believed to be in his 30s, was killed after he lost control of his motorcycle and rammed into the rear of a lorry at Jalan Marabahai Lama in Tuaran on Monday.

It was believed that the 2.15pm incident happened when the victim tried to overtake the lorry that was turning into a junction.

The impact caused the victim to be flung a couple of metres away and he died almost instantaneously at the scene from severe head and body injuries.

Police have detained the 47-year-old lorry driver to assist police in the investigation which is framed under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
