KUCHING: A blood donation campaign organised by ‘Lui Chiu Youth’ of Sarawak Lui Chiu Association at Plaza Merdeka recently drew 469 volunteers, of which 369 were successful as donors.
According to the association’s press statement recently, the number of donors from the campaign organised in collaboration with the Plaza Merdeka management and assisted by the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) blood bank, was a new record for the association.
“The campaign was to ensure that SGH’s blood bank has sufficient blood stock in cases of emergencies,” said Lui Chiu Association Youth chief Toh Kok Kwang.
“We hope through these meaningful activities, the younger generation is encouraged to participate in social activities actively and can contribute to our country and society,” he added.
