SIBU: Care for patients at Belaga Polyclinic will not be compromised in the event of a power outage, assured Health Department director Datu Dr Zulkifli Jantan yesterday.

“We’ve a backup system to respond to the situation,” he explained.

He was commenting on news report that residents there had claimed that the polyclinic had been operating without water and electricity.

A resident, Neo Kek Seng, claimed that power supply to the polyclinic was cut off over the past week.

To this, Dr Zulkifli said: “We are investigating. Meanwhile, we depend on the generator which can support all essential needs.”

There are two doctors, one dental officer and about 10 nurses at the polyclinic.
