KULIM: A policeman was injured after being rammed by a car while chasing after the driver and two other suspected criminals in Taman Seri Petaling, here, early yesterday.
The incident began at around 12.30am when a police patrol team comprising a patrol car and a motorcycle, had come across three men behaving in a suspicious manner in a Proton Wira car.
Kulim deputy police chief DSP Chin Soon Song said the suspects sped off to escape the police after realising they were being trailed.
He said in their bid to escape, the car skidded and was surrounded upon entering a dead end in Taman Sri Petaling after a three-kilometre chase.
“Two of the three men managed to flee while the driver was believed to have panicked before trying to reverse the car and causing one of the policemen on the motorcycle to sustain injury after being hit by the car,” he said here, yesterday. — Bernama
