KUALA LUMPUR: The Welfare Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti) yesterday prepared 49,300 packs of Hari Raya goodies to be distributed to the security forces personnel soon.

Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, who is also Bakti president, said the goodies, worth RM468,350, would be handed over to Armed Forces chief General Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar and Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) director-general Admiral Datuk Mohd Amdan Kurish in a special ceremony to be held at Seri Perdana on Monday.

“This is Bakti’s annual programme in appreciating the deeds and sacrifices of the members of the security forces who have been working hard to defend the country regardless of time and circumstances,” she told reporters after preparing the packs with 60 Bakti members at Wisma Bakti here yesterday.

Also present were Bakti deputy president Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman and Bakti honorary member Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.

Ninety-nine security forces personnel from the Armed Forces, Royal Malaysian Police and the MMEA, as well as 30 varsity students, were also involved in packing the goodies.

Each pack contained among others, ‘rendang daging’, ‘sambal ikan bilis’, ‘kuah kacang’ and ‘nasi impit’. — Bernama
