OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION: Muzaffar has bagged the Islamic Banker of The Year Award for his outstanding contribution in developing Islamic finance regionally.
KUALA LUMPUR: Maybank Islamic Bhd (Maybank Islamic) chief executive officer Muzaffar Hisham has bagged the Islamic Banker of The Year Award for his outstanding contribution in developing Islamic finance, regionally.
The award was given by Asset Triple A Islamic Finance Awards 2013.
“Muzaffar, who joined Maybank Islamic Bhd in 2011, with over 10 years experience in the industry played an important role in growing Maybank group’s Islamic banking business,” said Maybank Islamic in a statement.
Together with this award, Maybank Islamic had won two others awards which are Best Islamic Retail Bank, Malaysia and Best Islamic Trade Finance Bank for the third consecutive year.
“We would like to thank the Asset for recognizing our hard work and efforts,” said Muzaffar.
Maybank Islamic, currently the leading Islamic Bank in Asean and the largest Islamic Bank in Malaysia, secured its leadership position by showing robust double-digit growth rates in financing, deposits and in asset size, now standing at RM90 billion.
