BINTULU: BAT3 finally reached Similajau National Park on Tuesday, thanks to the superb performance of our official vehicle – the all-new Isuzu D Max.
Since the beginning of our trip on July 15, we had gone through many kinds of terrain such as sandy beaches, rough gravel roads including potholes and uneven surfaces along the state’s coastal highway. Even embarking and disembarking from one ferry to another could be challenging.
But thanks to this well-designed all-new D Max with its comfortable seats, the journey was exceptionally smooth except for the unexpected bumps and potholes.
The vehicle’s absorbers have been greatly tested, and its smoothness provides us with a great sense of comfort and security.
The total distance we have covered is about 2,000 km but we have only spent some RM300. This is definitely an excellent track record and this surely is exactly why it has a superior edge over its closest rival from other 4WD vehicles.
The handling of the vehicle is made much easier even with one hand as the vehicle is much larger than its predecessor. The extra space also provides the much needed room for our luggage, even when four of us were on the road for the first three days of the trip. And with that extra space, we planned to get some goodies for our friends in Kuching.
At the time of writing, we were greeted with warm smiles from our colleagues in this oil and gas town of Bintulu.
After spending the night at Similajau National Park, our next destinations will be Sibu, Sarikei and Saratok on our back to Kuching.
Feeling homesick after more than 10 days on the road, we will be heading for home from now on and are confident that we will arrive home safely with this all-new Isuzu D Max.
