KUCHING: Mambong folk should remain calm and be mindful that some approved projects take time to implement.

Its MP Datuk Seri Dr James Dawos Mamit, who is also Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment,  assured that projects worth a total of RM5 million for Mambong would be implemented.

“All projects approved for the constituency will be implemented, but the people must understand that various procedures and policy have to be followed.

“There are many stages and procedures to follow before a project can be implemented,” he said at a PBB Bengoh gathering on Friday to celebrate his victory in the May 5 general election.

He told those present that all promises stated in the  BN manifesto would be fulfilled.

Dawos also urged PBB members to explain to the people about the delay in project implementation.

On tourism, Dawos, who was formerly Tourism Deputy Minister, clarified he was still very much involved in tourism programmes and activities in the country.

Hence, he urged the people to develop tourism products to increase their income.

Dawos also stressed he was not a “rhetoric politician, but a technocrat politican.”

Meanwhile, PBB Bengoh deputy chairman Sora Rusah said the stronger mandate given to Dawos in the 13th General Election meant  Mambong constituents had faith and confidence in him.

In the election, Dawos won by a 9721-vote majority against his opponent Willie Mongin from PKR.

Meanwhile, PBB Bengoh secretary Jeguk Ngamo said the branch had 7200 members, adding 65 of the 78 villages in Bengoh were with the party.

He urged party members to remain active to ensure a handsome win for the Barisan Nasional in the 11th state election which is due by the middle of 2016.
