SIBU: Siung Wen Loon, an entrant of the BP Run scheduled for Aug 31 at Sibu Town Square, joined a 10-km run in Kuala Lumpur in 2008 and has since developed a burning passion for long distance running.

He said he had since joined many marathon runs.

“I joined many marathon events during my two years studies in Kuala Lumpur.

“When I came back here, I decided that I should continue running because it is fun,” he pointed out.

He was studying in Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) College in Kuala Lumpur in 2008 when he was advised by an advisor of a college club to join a marathon run.

“The experience was great, it was great fitness training,” Siung recalled.

He said he had run at the previous two BP runs when he was among the first 20 to return in both.

“I hope to gain new experience at this year’s run.

“I love to run to enjoy the nature, and maybe, make new friends,” he enthused, saying he had his parents’ support.

Siung has also entered for two other marathon runs this year – one in KL in September and the other, Penang in December.
