Farley celebrates 10th anniversary in style

SIBU: Farley promised a colourful and exciting evening to celebrate its 10th anniversary here on Saturday, and they fulfilled it.

The big crowd at Farley Stage were held agog as one interesting item after another was performed.

The fun started at about 5.30pm with a police dog demonstration, followed by a dragon dance.

Iban artistes from Panggau Buluh Pengerindu then crooned several hits before a breather for the first lucky draw to pick 12 winners. The prize money was RM100 each.

Malay entertainers from Pertubuhan Sri Swangsa then took centre stage.

ENTERTAINING EVENING: Many turned up to watch Farley’s 10th anniversary presentations.

Oliver Kuo, representing Sibu Municipal Council chairman Datuk Tiong Thai King, then delivered a speech to declare opened ‘Farley Night 10th Anniversary Celebration’.

Immediately after Kuo’s speech ended, colourful fireworks lit up the evening sky.

Part II and III of the lucky draw followed suit. The names of six winners were announced. The prize money for each is RM1,000.

Hardly had the excitement died down, the winner for the first prize (RM1,800) and grand prize (RM2,500) were announced.

GREEN: This dragon dance is a crowd puller.

Winners who were not at the show have two weeks to collect their winnings.

Farley managing director Lau Siew Whye, Farley Shoes Centre manager Wong Hai Sing and Balraj Singh, the Sibu branch chief of the Ministry of Domestic Trade Corporative and Consumerism, were among those present.

The evening ended with a lion dance.
