Idris Jala to make presentation on Pemandu to South Africa government in mid-September

PUTRAJAYA: Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) chief executive officer Datuk Seri Idris Jala will make a presentation on Pemandu and its transformation programme to the South Africa government next month.

Speaking to Bernama on the sidelines of a joint press conference by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and South Africa President Jacob Zuma, Idris Jala, who is also Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, said he would visit South Africa in mid-September.

Earlier, during the press conference, Najib said Malaysia was willing to share its knowledge and experience with South Africa to undertake transformation programmes.

Najib said Zuma has expressed keen interest to look at how Malaysia implemented its transformation programme and invited Idris Jala to make a complete presentation to the South Africa government.

Idris Jala is the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and the chief executive officer of Pemandu.

Pemandu is the unit that monitors implementation of the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) initiative.

Zuma, who is on a three-day official visit to Malaysia, arrived yesterday.

He will deliver a keynote address at the Malaysia-South Africa Business Forum.

Additionally, he will receive an Honorary Doctorate in Humanitarian Leadership from the Lim Kok Wing University and the ‘Lifetime Campaigner for Global Peace Award’ on behalf of former South Africa President Nelson Mandela from the Mahathir Global Peace Foundation. — Bernama
