I am all ears to your requests, Lee assures PTAs

MIRI: Assistant Minister of Communications Datuk Lee Kim Shin has assured parent -teacher associations (PTAs that he will always give a listening ear to their problems and requests.

Saying this after presenting a minor rural project (MRP) grant of RM3,000 to the PTA of SK Tudan yesterday, Lee said the school and the association should not wait for him to visit the school to lay out their problems or make requests.

“You can also meet and discuss including requesting for anything pertaining to development and progress of the school. Rest assured that I will always be in my office if I am in Miri,” he said.

Earlier before presenting the grant, the school handed the Senadin assemblyman a letter asking for his support in getting the land in front of the school to be converted into a parking bay and an area for picking up and dropping of children.

In reply, Lee said he would help them to lobby for approval from relevant authorities.

The school also requested for a roof to be built over the multi-purpose court which they use for weekly assembly.

On this, Lee suggested that the PTA raise funds to build the roof. He also said he might be able to provide financial assistance and write to the Education Department for assistance.

Meanwhile, during the presentation of a grant to SK Merbau PTA, he advised its members to be proactive and support its activities which will ultimately benefit the school and its students.
