KUANTAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak yesterday said that the development of projects meant for people’s well-being will become easy when the federal and state governments are operating under one umbrella.

He said the general public would also receive maximum benefits from the wise decisions they made when choosing the government.

“This is what happened in Pahang.  When the loyalty of the people remains with Barisan Nasional, it eases all kinds of work and cooperation between the state and federal governments to give the best service to the people.

” Najib said this at the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Pahang State Administration Complex construction project at Kota Sultan Ahmad Shah (KOTASAS) here yesterday.

The RM399 million project, which is being implemented on a 24.8-hectare site, is expected to be completed in three years.

The new complex is also expected to be the new icon of Pahang as the design was inspired from the state’s logo and the fact that it adopted green technology in a bid to preserve the quality of its environment.

The complex comprises the State Legislative Assembly building, state government building and federal government building.

Najib, who had served as Pahang Menteri Besar in 1982, said it was high time for a new state-of-the-art state administration centre to be built to replace the 45-year-old Wisma Seri Pahang and to give a more efficient service to the people.

Meanwhile, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob said the new complex would also give positive impact to the productivity of civil servants in Pahang and hence, benefit the people of Kuantan in particular and in Pahang in general.  — Bernama
