MIRI: The driver of a 4WD vehicle died after suffering a heart attack while at the wheel and crashed by the roadside before hitting a lamppost near Piasau roundabout on Thursday night around 11pm.
The driver, a 53-year-old man surnamed ‘Lo’, was said to have crashed while driving alone in the vehicle, and died at Miri Hospital around 2am on Friday, apparently due to injuries he sustained from the impact.
According to sources, Lo had a sudden heart attack while at the wheel, which was believed to have caused the 4WD to skid and veer to the roadside.
However, police are still investigating the actual cause of the incident.
