KUANTAN: Three male National Service Training Programme (NSTP) trainees of the Pinggiran Pelangi Camp in Muadzam Shah have been remanded by the police in connection with the death of trainee Muhammad Suhaimi Norhamidi, 18, early Monday.

Rompin police chief DSP Johari Jahaya said the suspects, also aged 18, were picked up when a post-mortem revealed the cause of death was due to internal bleeding in the head.

“The post-mortem showed the cause of death was due to a blow from a blunt object.

“We believe that those detained and the victim were involved in a fight,” he said when contacted by Bernama here yesterday.

Muhammad Suhaimi was found unconscious in a hostel bathroom by a friend at 12.04am yesterday.

The victim was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Muadzam Shah Hospital. — Bernama
