SUNGAI PETANI: The mother of 56-year-old Wan Razali Wan Yaacob who died from suspected food poisoning at a wedding feast Kampung Huma, Tanjung Dawai near here, does not blame the host of the wedding feast for her son’s death.
Lijah Mahmud, 70, said she accepted her son’s death as God’s will.
She said her son, a fisherman in Kampung Banggol Belau, Merbok, died at about 7.15pm on Tuesday at the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital (HSAH) due to internal organ failure.
“He was a good son, always came to send fish at my house,” she said when met after her son’s burial at the cemetery at Al-Atiq Mosque in Kampung Merbok near here yesterday.
Lijah said she did not go to the wedding feast last Saturday.
Wan Razali was the fourth victim to die of food poisoning at the wedding feast.
The other three died on Sunday.
Meanwhile, more than 200 people who attended the wedding feast had sought treatment at several hospitals.
The victims were said to be having diarrheoa and vomiting after eating a chicken dish at the wedding feast. — Bernama
