Bringing the best ramen offerings in Kuching

KUCHING: Sando Ramen distinguishes itself from the many Japanese restaurants in Kuching by solely focusing on one particular niche food: ramen.

Business owners Brendan Ting and Owen Phan started Sando Ramen earlier in January this year at ST3 Shopping Mall Kuching, utilising this unique business model to hone in on its quality.

Normally, food and beverage players tend to provide an eclectic mix of offerings for consumption, such as finger food, Oriental rice and noodle dishes, Western food and so forth.

“The problem with many food and beverage stores is they offer too many types of food. This makes it difficult for both servers and chefs as they have to juggle between different styles of cooking, different methods of presentation,” explained Phan, who hails from Miri, to The Borneo Post.

“This will overall affect the consistency of quality of the food.”

This led the duo towards the objective of focusing on one particular dish, and being good at it.

“When we first came up with this concept – some two years back – we notice that no one in Malaysia has done it before,”
highlighted Sibu-born Ting.
