MIRI: Malaysia Craft Promotion 2013 aims to net at least RM200,000 in sales during its 10-day promotion that started yesterday at Bintang Megamall here.

Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau said the promotion, which ends Nov 3, was the biggest craft promotion to be held at a shopping mall here.

“Thirty-three local entrepreneurs nationwide are involved in the fair. They are from Sarawak, Kelantan, Malacca and Selangor,” he told a press conference yesterday.

Malaysia Craft Promotion 2013 showcases products ranging from textiles, jungle produce, earthen wares, and a wide variety of handicrafts.

“The purpose of the promotion is to encourage entrepreneurs to promote and market their products directly to consumers.

“Consumers also benefit from the direct bargaining and competitive pricing,” said Dennis.

He opined that holding it in a shopping mall was appropriate as it was a high human traffic area.

“The promotion is also aimed at people from Brunei.”

Malaysia Craft Promotion 2013 opens from 10am to 10pm daily during the promotion period, and Dennis hoped the general public would extend their support to make it a success.
