MIRI: Women today play a more pivotal role in decision-making and their contributions at various levels of development have received high recognition.
Federation of Miri Division Chinese Associations president Hii Teck Yun said such recognition has shown that there is no gender discrimination and that women possess strong leadership capabilities.
“Do not underestimate women’s abilities as their contributions to the country’s development are more than what we expect,” he stated when officiating a Fashion Competition at Boulevard Shopping Complex recently.
In view of that, he wanted the women here, particular those in the federation’s women wing, to emulate the success of top women leaders around the world and follow their examples.
He was happy to note the federation’s women’s wing had been successful in fostering closer relationships and cooperation with other women’s wings from various associations and organisations here.
Other activities included talks on beauty and grooming, property investment, a mooncake-making competition, traditional cuisine cooking demonstrations and aerobics.
