Fatal crash in Anduki

KUALA BELAIT: A 35-year-old Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) Sdn Bhd employee died while on his way to work when his car collided with a tanker in Anduki early yesterday morning, Borneo Bulletin reported.

The accident involved a collision between a petrol tanker and three cars in an accident-prone area along Jalan Anduki, Lumut.

According to a police report, the tanker was on its way to Lumut when the car driven by the victim on the opposite lane veered into the lane of the tanker resulting in a collision. As a result, two other saloon cars behind were also affected.

One of the drivers has suffered serious injuries while the two other drivers have escaped with minor bruises and some internal injuries” due to the impact.

The Bulletin was told that the victim was on his way to work at BSP’s Aviation Department (SAV) checkpoint in Anduki when he met with the tragic accident.

The victim, identified as Awg Joolerefian Saidi, was pronounced dead on his way to the hospital.

The accident occurred before 6am.

Fire and Rescue personnel were at the scene to carry out rescue work while police personnel were seen carrying out an investigation and controlling the traffic.
