KUCHING: A man was fined RM1,000 in default one month in jail yesterday for injuring his ex-wife after she refused to go with him on his motorcycle.
Amerul Zaiyanee, 20, from Taman Dahlia, Jalan Matang pleaded guilty before Magistrate Shafiza Abdul Razak Tready, who convicted him under Section 323 of the Penal Code.
The attack happened at a petrol station in Matang around 6pm on Nov 6, when he ran into his ex-wife, who was on a friend’s motorcycle.
He ordered the friend to stay out of the way and then asked his ex-wife to follow him on his motorcycle instead.
When she refused, he manhandled her and injured her eye, lips and neck in the process.
Police arrested him at his house the next day.
Inspector Yunus Ishak prosecuted.
