TAWAU: The family of the Taiwanese tourist Hsu Li Min, 57, who was shot dead by a group of armed assailants in Pom-Pom Island, Semporna last Friday have appealed for his post mortem report to be speeded up.

The victim’s brother Hsu Li Ren said the family also urged the Malaysian government to approve the documents to take his ashes back to Taiwan as soon as possible.

“The post mortem is completed and we hope the report will be speeded up so we can proceed with the funeral,” he said after seeing his brother’s remains at the Tawau Hospital morgue here yesterday.

He thanked the parties involved and particularly the Malaysian government for all the assistance which was rendered to the family in dealing with the tragedy.

Li Ren further made a plea to the authorities to rescue his brother’s girlfriend Chang An Wei, 58, who was kidnapped in the incident.

On Nov 15, Lin Min was found dead in a resort chalet on Pom-Pom island with two gunshot wounds on his chest while his girlfriend Chang An Wei was kidnapped by the group of suspected Abu Sayyaf members. — Bernama
