KUCHING: Sarawak Energy Berhad bagged the ‘Power Producer Excellence Award for Coal Power Plant’ during the KeTTHA Industry Awards (KIA) 2013 in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
In a statement issued by SEB, it said the inaugural KIA was organised by Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water or KeTTHA to honour Malaysian-based energy,
green technology and water industries players that have contributed to driving the nation’s agenda.
SEB chief operating officer Lu Yew Hung, who was present to receive the award, said they are delighted to be given such recognition from the ministry.
“This motivates us to do even better in order to achieve greater excellence in our operations,” he said in the statement.
Apart from Lu, SEB was also represented by another senior officer, namely its senior vice president (Thermal) James Ung and a few other employees.
The KIA 2013 was also co-organised by GreenTech Malaysia, Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia (SEDA), Suruhanjaya Tenaga or Energy Commission (ST) and Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara or Civil Service Commission (SPAN).
