DURIAN SEASON: Sibu Central Market has turned into a hive of activities as people scramble to buy the king of fruits.

SIBU: Seasonal fruit vendors at Sungei Merah bazaar are ordered to trade within the specified locations, starting today.
The chairman of SMC Market and Petty Traders Standing Committee, Chieng Buong Toon, said this was made following an inspection of the site on Thursday.
“We noted their plight to sell seasonal fruits such as durian there – at the parking lots near the market after 3pm.
“Alternatively, they can trade the whole day at the parking lots in front of a coffee shop in the area. They must, however, park their vehicles elsewhere after unloading their fruits.
Chieng also advised motorists to refrain from parking by the roadsides when looking for durians or other purchases.
