KUALA TERENGGANU: A civil servant lost about RM209,000 after being deceived by a foreign man whom she met on social networking site Facebook.
The victim, a 50-year-old single mother had mortgaged her house and handed over the money to the man.
She lodged a report at the Kuala Terengganu police headquarters yesterday.
State Commercial CID chief, Supt Khoh Ah Tiam said the foreigner had earlier hoodwinked the woman into believing that he was a contractor and that he wanted to transfer US$10 million (RM31 million) to this country. — Bernama
