UCSI first university in nation to offer unique programme

KUCHING: UCSI University is proud to be appointed by Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation as the first leading university in the nation to deliver Korean cuisine education programme in line with the Korean’s government’s efforts to promote culture, food and music around the world.

UCSI University Sarawak Campus hotel management and culinary arts students will be organising its first ever Korean Night tomorrow from from 6pm to 10pm. This event is open to members of the public with tickets priced at RM25 per person, according to a UCSI press release issued in Kuala Lumpur.

The objective of the event is to raise awareness of Korean cuisine and culture as well as showcase Korean food presentation and performance by students from hotel management and culinary arts programmes.

The highlight of this event will be the signing of an agreement with the government agency of the Republic of Korea, the Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation to enhance the learning of Korean cuisine in UCSI University. The signing of the agreement will be witnessed by the ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Malaysia and his delegates as well as the Ministry of Tourism Sarawak and Sarawak Tourism Board.

To add excitement to the event, Master Chef Kim Yong Hyun of Daorae Restaurant who is on its board of directors will be presenting a cooking demonstration to promote Korean cuisine.
