PENAMPANG: A motorcyclist was killed on the spot after his machine crashed into the monsoon drain at Bundusan Road here yesterday.
Philzan Philip, 32, was believed to have lost control of his motorcycle at a roundabout around 1.26am.
According to district police chief DSP Ratan Kumar Singh, initial investigation revealed that the victim had hit the road shoulder before falling into a six-foot deep monsoon drain.
“It was raining and the area was dark,” he said.
It was learnt that the victim was on his way home to Kampung Kobusak from his workplace at Beverly Hills.
His body was retrieved by the Fire and Rescue Services Department and pronounced dead at the scene.
