KUANTAN: Bank Pertanian Malaysia Berhad (Agrobank) today lodged a police report over the promotion of fake loans using the bank’s name and logo.
The bank’s head of corporate communications, Zamberi Darman, said the report was made after a banner was found on Thursday in Kuantan town with details of loan offers from Agrobank which were actually false.
“The phone number and website listed on the banner was false and Agrobank never appointed any agent or middleman to deal with the public regarding Agrobank financing,” he said when contacted by Bernama, here.
He said Agrobank removed the banner and a police report was made at the Kuantan district police headquarters on Friday to avoid public confusion and that legal action would be taken against those responsible.
