SRI AMAN: The cleanliness and beautification of residential areas’ is not only the responsibility of any one authority but is the shared responsibility of all residents who live there.

Taman Desa Indah Sri Aman neighbourhood watch (KRT) committee chairman (Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Penaja Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (KRT) Taman Desa Indah Sri Aman) Wan Jaya Wan Alex said this in

his speech when officiating at the Senamrobik and Gotong-Royong programme organised by the KRT here Saturday morning.

He added that organising programmes like gotong-royong could give awareness to the local community so that they would always take care of the cleanliness of their respective surroundings.

“This type of programme must be adopted regularly and not only involve programmes organised by KRT, but also those by other agencies,” he said.

He also urged all KRT committee members including the Young Neighbours (Jiran Muda) committee, Women Neighbours (Jiran Wanita) and Tunas Jiran to get involved in programmes like this.

This is because their involvement of all these committees will lead to success of future programmes, he said.

Wan Jaya also suggested organising similiar programmes in the future together with other parties.

“This senamrobik and gotong-roying which we organised is the first programme for the year and acts as a platform for our side to organise bigger programmes in the future,” he explained.

Also present and participating in the programme were pre-school teachers from Sri Aman Division National Unity and Integrity Department.

About 100 KRT members took part in the senamrobik and gotong-royong programme which started at 7.30am and ended around 10am.
